Applied on line?  Now what? 

 1.  What is my application status?
  • Accepted applicants will receive an invitation for substitute registration session.  Substitute registrations are held weekly. Please click here for updated information.. 
  • Unsuccessful candidates may receive no status update or notice that a position has been filled.
  • If you have not heard back in one weeks time, please send email us to inquire about the status of your application.
2.  Complete and submit the new substitute hiring forms that were emailed to you before you attend a registration event.
3.  Within one week of submitting your application, you will receive a substitute candidate email referring to a substitute registration event. Select the link to sign up for a substitute registration event. 
  • Register for an upcoming registration. You must receive and email invitation prior to registration.
  • Once registered you will receive follow up emails for your upcoming event.
  • Email us if you are unable to attend for any reason.
4.  What happens at substitute registration?
  •  Download CTA substitute registration for further information.
5.  Fingerprint information:  All classified (non-licensed) substitutes are required to complete fingerprints if they have not been done previously through the Oregon Department of Education. 
  • There are fees involved with collecting and processing fingerprints. Complete details are included in "What to expect when attending CTA substitute registration" 
  • Licensed teachers are fingerprinted as a part of the State of Oregon licensing process.
6. Required online compliance training courses. State and federal laws require all school district employees including substitutes to complete compliance training. 
  • You will be sent the email link to complete the free online trainings after attending a registration event.
  • Compliance training in another Oregon school district may be transferable; be prepared to provide evidence of completion.
